This series of illustrations was produced as a part of publication for an event "Im Schatten des Atompilzes" in summer 2025. I got deeply affected by the story of Marshal Islands'. The story of wiped out history, heritage, dying out language and folk tales as an aftermath of nuclear weapon testing is conveyed through 5 images. Each page, seemingly peaceful, represents an important pillar of the cultural heritage of people from the Marshal Islands – traditional dependence on coconut palm trees, tattooing rituals, boat building and sailing, legends and storytelling, and traditional weaving. However, by the effects of radiation, they are slowly decaying, dismorphing and disappearing as people forget.
