My bachelor thesis project is based on my research of fascination with bird feathers and how it can lead one into exploring nature and eventually, developing a deep care for the environment. The book follows a journal of a young boy filled with observational notes, drawings, sketches and photographs of birds and their traces. My prototype is an asnwer to my largest concern in my research – how can we truly fascinate children with natural items to draw them in, but yet avoid sparking obsession or posessive and selfish tendencies? The journal is an educational guide that opens up the world of bird feathers to children and which leads by example.
