It’s an evening during lockdown, about a week before Christmas. The family house is slowly getting decorated, and I'm sipping black tea with lemon and sugar. Between each sip, I try to quickly fill the sheets of paper with fast sketches capturing family members as they about their routines – be it cooking, cleaning or working.

This series of drawings emerged during a very peaceful and slow time in my life. I found fulfilment in documenting our home, aware of how rare and fleeting those moments were. I captured the way people moved, their gestures, snippets of conversation, emotions. Years later, this collection has become incredibly precious to me. The series consists of around 30 drawings, featuring four final abstract collages in pencil focusing on light and shadow.
