In this project, I focus only on a part of the characters the story features – one protagonist and one antagonist, and I developed action and character sheets for both. The character of Freddy the butler is inspired by a childhood story I used to beg my dad to tell as a kid. It’s a reimagined version of the story of how I remember it. Freddy is the perfect one-man army, guarding and caring for a castle with only his loyal, puffy kitten by his side. The character design follows principles of shape design, adding a touch of irony and surprise – a big, Viking-like figure who, in spite of his intimidating appearance, is actually a gentle and funny guy. The concept for this story was drawn digitally, however the desired outcome are watercolour illustrations.
